Leaving Kwaj- heading home

On our way to the show in Kwaj Style!

This place is a living Post Card- I will miss it allot!
These skies during sunrise where so amazing

I woke up after the show around 4AM to watch the sun come up- I recapped the 10 days in my head- I can't believe it was real. I love our troops and would and have gone to war zones to entertain them. To go to places like this, with all its history, is the icing on the Cake. I love my job and doing it for such beautiful people, meeting friends, and so on, but I am ready to get home and see my little man.

I thank Armed Forces Entertainment, Frank, Max and Carol & Jim for allowing me these Opportunity's
A storm was blowing over- I hope we don't get delayed, I want to see the baby, but I also love the idea of staying here another night.

Back to Hawaii

We stop and have lunch in Hawaii. Then I'm off to Chicago- layover and Home! I thank god every trip and for meeting so many great people!
I make great friends on these trips and meet people I will always be in touch with.... this trip no different.
Finally, getting to talk to Angie made me so happy. Glad to be heading home.

Kwaj- photos

Here are some Random shots were taken right before our show at American Legion.
The crowd was terrific, and we got to hang out with the guys after and watch the stars. Amazing!!

Jim tearing it up!

I reunited with my buddy Stan from the last blog! He and his wife are great people- I am excited we exchanged info and are going to stay in touch!
We watched the stars after the show and enjoyed relaxing on the beach.

flying to kwaj. part 1

Leaving Hawaii: Last night in Paradise.

Heading To Kwaj- Check the older blog for history.

This was such a vital Atoll in WW2 I can't believe I'm coming back to perform for our guys there- I know it is selfish, but WW2 is so essential I love the fact I've seen this place.
I am ultra excited to perform for our troops and see where such important historical things happened.
Please, for history and a tour, check my blog history.

Hipsters in Kwaj?

Carole, Midori, Liz, Jim, Me and Frank

Island living is impressive- if you are American. The Native people live tough. They start having children at 12 years old, and on these tiny islands, a baby is born about every 6 hours, and only half make it past 1 year old.

These sharks come in and eat the scraps from the fish that get caught and gutted. We only have about 24 hours and only 1 show tonight- we fly out early- so I tried to fit in as much sightseeing as I could.

Frank Jim and I check out what we can historically on the island then hit the beach.

Where 3 marines were executed by the Japanese

After we ran around, It was time to get ready for the show at the VFW hall on sight. It is a different venue from last time, but I am still excited and nervous about the show. I get nervous because I want to give these guys the best show possible- it is essential to do my best- the troops deserve it!
